Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

I picked up this Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain at Rite Aid last week for around $9.00.
It seems to be a drugstore version of tarte's LipSurgance natural lip tint. Revlon's balm stain has the same peppermint-y smell that tarte's has, but it's not as strong. I was kind of hoping it would smell sweet or fruity, because in my mind all brightly colored things should smell ~sweet~. The smell doesn't put me off from wearing it, but it's not my favorite.

I picked out the shade Rendezvous as I've been quite drawn to oranges/corals lately, but they had a nice selection of pinks, reds and I think they even had some purpleish ones if I remember correctly. I like products like these because in the spring and summer I don't always feel like wearing a lipstick. This gives a nice flush of color to my lips and it's not drying. As far as it being a stain, I haven't tried it out enough to say how long lasting it is. Overall I really like it, I think Revlon does a great job with their lip products. I think the packaging is cute, too!

My MAC Lipstick Collection - So Far!

L-R: Ravishing (cremesheen), Shy Girl (cremesheen), Hue (glaze), Creme Cup (cremesheen), Please Me (matte), Speed Dial (cremesheen), Viva Glam Nicki (satin), Lustering (lustre), Crosswires (cremesheen), MAC Red (satin), Amorous (satin)

My MAC lipstick collection!

I got my first MAC lipstick last summer, and it was Please Me, which is described by MAC as a "muted-rosey-tinted pink." I'd say that's an accurate description of it's color. It has a matte finish, and it's the only matte MAC lipstick I own. I loved it at first but it seems to have gotten dry or something? If I wear it on it's own it is hard to spread on the lips and sort of gathers in little spots. I realize as a matte lipstick they can be on the dryer side, but I don't remember it being like that when I first got it. I still love the color so I layer mine over lip balm and that seems to work just fine.

Next I bought Lustering, an "outspoken pink." It has a lustre finish so it's glossy and very easy to wear. I sometimes forget to wear it but every time I do I remember how much I love it. I think it's very flattering on my skin tone.

Shy Girl, the next lipstick I bought, is described as a "creamy neutral coral beige." I never wear this lipstick. There's nothing that I dislike~ about it, it's just neeeever the one I reach for. I feel like I only bought this lipstick because a lot of other people like it and rave about it, so I felt like I "should" have it. It has a cremesheen finish, which is one of my favorites and the finish I own the most of. The lipstick itself is a pretty color but I find it doesn't stand out or do anything for my face.

For Christmas my boyfriend got me MAC Red, which is described as a "vivid bright bluish-red." I find that in the tube it looks more "fire engine red" but when you wear it looks much more berry toned. I do like it but I always worry I have it all over my teeth when I wear it! It has a satin finish.

Amorous is described as "lovestruck cranberry." I'd say in some lights that's accurate but at other times it looks more plum-y. I hardly ever chose to wear this lipstick, but I love the color. This too has a satin finish, which isn't matte or too shiny like the cremesheen finish.

Creme Cup is a "light blue pink" with a cremesheen finish. I think it's a nice lipstick and a lovely color, but I think it can also wash me out as it's so light. I wore it quite a bit when I first bought it, but lately I've been more into oranges, corals, etc. so it hasn't received much love from me in a while.

Speed Dial, a cremesheen, is also described as a "light blue pink," but this is brighter and has some gold shimmer in it. I saw that Emma from milkteef described it as a "Barbie" pink, and it's true, I could picture Barbie wearing this color. I like to wear it with blushes or eyeshadows that are gold or have gold in them to bring out the gold shimmer in the lipstick.

Crosswires is one of my favorite lipsticks from MAC. It has a cremesheen finish but doesn't seem to be as glossy on me as my others. It's described as a "clean pinky orange," but I'd describe it as a reddy pink. I think it's great if you want the effect of a red lip but aren't daring enough to really go for a red lipstick. It has great staying power and I love it!

Hue is another lipstick that I bought feeling like I "should" have it. It's described as a "soft pale pink" and is a glaze finish. It's the only glaze I own, and it seems to be as glossy as a cremesheen but not as opaque. I find it to be a bit peachy-er than Creme Cup, but I'd say they're pretty similar. This lipstick can also sort of wash me out so I hardly wear it.

Viva Glam Nicki is my favorite MAC lipstick I own! I have a post on it here. It's described as a "bright yellow pink" and it has a satin finish. It is quite bright but if I feel like muting it down, I'll dab some on my lips and then spread it around with my finger. It's just so fun and bright that I reach for it quite often. It's a limited edition shade but it's still available on the website. Maybe I should buy another in case mine ever runs out?

Ravishing is another cremesheen lipstick described as a "clean light peachy coral." I have a post on it here. I sort of forgot about it for a while but used it last week and realized again how much I like it! I've been very drawn to orange lip products lately.

I haven't bought MAC lipsticks for a while as there aren't many more that have caught my eye, besides some limited editions that I wasn't able to get my hands one. I would like to get Viva Glam GaGa and Saint Germain, but I think SG might look kind of scary on my lips. I like it so much though!

I've ordered most of my lipsticks from their website as I don't live close to a store or counter. MAC quite frequently send email codes for free standard or two day shipping, so if you're going to order online WAIT FOR THOSE! They cost $14.50 each, but I think the quality is great. They all smell like vanilla, very sweet but not sickeningly so (at least in my opinion.) I'd say if you're new to MAC products the lipsticks are a good place to start. They have TONS of colors and different finishes so you have lots of options. If you're curious about how a lipstick actually looks (because sometimes on MAC's website it's hard to tell how they'll actually look in real life) google search the lipstick and there will most likely be a bunch of blog posts that'll pop up with swatches and photos.

I hope you enjoyed this post! I don't have as many MAC lipsticks as some people, but I've got a good selection of colors I think.

The Naked Palette

There are probably a billion other (and possibly better) blog posts about Urban Decay's Naked Palette, but I figured I'd post mine.
I received mine in late March (that's when these photos are from), and since then I've hardly touched my other eye shadows. I ordered the Naked palette from Sephora's website for $50. I was hesitant to spend that much on eyeshadow at first, but I use this literally EVERY day, so I think it's worth it in the long run if you think you'll use it a lot. Right now I'm dying to get the Naked 2 palette which has more taupe-y shades. The Eyeshadow Primer Potion that came with the palette is still going strong and I like it.

My most used/favorite shades from this palette are:
Virgin, Sin, Naked, Buck, Half Baked and Toasted.

Virgin is by far the most used by me, it is the most beautiful highlighting shade. It's very subtle but so gorgeous. Naked and Buck are the shades I like to use in my crease. I've recently started using Creep along my lash line when I don't feel like dealing with liner.

The only shade that never gets any use or love from me is Gunmetal. It's pretty enough on it's own but silvery-blue is never an eyeshadow color I go for. I also never use the brush that came with the palette, I use MAC's 217 or a Real Techniques brush instead.

Overall, I'm in love with this palette and would definitely recommend it.

NARS Laguna Bronzer!

Having a Sephora within 30 minutes of my house will most likely be very dangerous for my wallet.
I've been wanting this bronzer for quite a while now. I'd been previously using the e.l.f. bronzer but I already hit pan and the more I used it the less I liked it. Of course, for $3.00 it was okay, but it wasn't giving me the effect I wanted.
For years now I've stared longingly at the NARS blush selections but up until recently have never actually bought any. They are on the more expensive side, but they are sooo nice that I think it's worth it. The powder is so soft, when you dip your brush in you don't have powder fluffing everywhere. The packaging is sooooooo smooth and luxurious. It does get dirty quite easily, but I like it nonetheless.
I got NARS Laguna at Sephora in JC Penny for $34.00. The saleswoman was very helpful and matched me for the new Benefit foundation Hello Flawless and gave me a sample. She also gave me samples of MakeUp For Ever and Smashbox primers.
In the past I've sort of dismissed the Sephora people by saying "Oh, I'm just looking!" even if I was actually looking for specific things, mostly because I'm pretty shy. From now on I'll definitely ask them questions if I have them, that's what they're there for.

I haven't tried anything on my face yet but I'm very excited! Next time I think I'm going to look at more NARS blushes, Deep Throat and Douceur are calling my name...

MyGlam Bag | May

I received this month's MyGlam bag a couple days ago so I figured I'd post about it!
This is the second MyGlam Bag that I've received, and overall I've been pretty pleased so far. I was initially a bit worried because after subscribing I watched a lot of videos on YouTube about MyGlam horror stories ; people being charged for bags and never receiving them, people getting multiple bags, MyGlam not getting back to people who had problems, etc.
I almost cancelled my subscription but figured I'd wait and see how it went. So far I haven't had any problems. April and May's bags were both shipped and arrived on time, and I've liked the contents.

MyGlam arrives in the bright pink package (me gusta), each month's bags have a different design, and there's a card describing each product. I personally like getting a new little makeup bag each month. I usually use a small purse so these fit perfectly.

This is the product I'm probably the most unsure of. I've never used anything like this for my nails, and I'm not really crazy for the design, but I'll probably give it a try.

This is a very light, sweet fragrance. I like it, but I hate that it doesn't have a spray top as I always spill these kinds all over myself.

I had never heard of this brand before so I looked it up and saw that this lipstick is sold for $14.50, so it definitely makes this bag worth it money-wise. The packaging is my favorite part of this lipstick, it's much like NARS products. I like the color, although I think I'll wear it more in fall and winter. The thing I'm not crazy about is that it doesn't smell like anything really. I feel like for a lipstick that's $14.50 it shouldn't smell like a cheap drugstore lipstick, but maybe that's just me.

For the last couple of months MyGlam has been sending out makeup brushes. Last month they were for eyes (eyeshadow and angled eyeliner), and this month they're concealer and a 'defining' eyeliner brush.
I've not yet used any of the MyGlam brushes as I usually stick to my MAC/Real Techniques brushes, but these seem nice enough.

MyGlam is about $10.00 a month. So far I've liked the products I've received and will probably stay subscribed for a while.
I'm really interesedt in the Glossybox subscription service as I always read about it on the UK blogs I follow. Maybe I'll try that one as well soon!
