My MAC Lipstick Collection - So Far!

L-R: Ravishing (cremesheen), Shy Girl (cremesheen), Hue (glaze), Creme Cup (cremesheen), Please Me (matte), Speed Dial (cremesheen), Viva Glam Nicki (satin), Lustering (lustre), Crosswires (cremesheen), MAC Red (satin), Amorous (satin)

My MAC lipstick collection!

I got my first MAC lipstick last summer, and it was Please Me, which is described by MAC as a "muted-rosey-tinted pink." I'd say that's an accurate description of it's color. It has a matte finish, and it's the only matte MAC lipstick I own. I loved it at first but it seems to have gotten dry or something? If I wear it on it's own it is hard to spread on the lips and sort of gathers in little spots. I realize as a matte lipstick they can be on the dryer side, but I don't remember it being like that when I first got it. I still love the color so I layer mine over lip balm and that seems to work just fine.

Next I bought Lustering, an "outspoken pink." It has a lustre finish so it's glossy and very easy to wear. I sometimes forget to wear it but every time I do I remember how much I love it. I think it's very flattering on my skin tone.

Shy Girl, the next lipstick I bought, is described as a "creamy neutral coral beige." I never wear this lipstick. There's nothing that I dislike~ about it, it's just neeeever the one I reach for. I feel like I only bought this lipstick because a lot of other people like it and rave about it, so I felt like I "should" have it. It has a cremesheen finish, which is one of my favorites and the finish I own the most of. The lipstick itself is a pretty color but I find it doesn't stand out or do anything for my face.

For Christmas my boyfriend got me MAC Red, which is described as a "vivid bright bluish-red." I find that in the tube it looks more "fire engine red" but when you wear it looks much more berry toned. I do like it but I always worry I have it all over my teeth when I wear it! It has a satin finish.

Amorous is described as "lovestruck cranberry." I'd say in some lights that's accurate but at other times it looks more plum-y. I hardly ever chose to wear this lipstick, but I love the color. This too has a satin finish, which isn't matte or too shiny like the cremesheen finish.

Creme Cup is a "light blue pink" with a cremesheen finish. I think it's a nice lipstick and a lovely color, but I think it can also wash me out as it's so light. I wore it quite a bit when I first bought it, but lately I've been more into oranges, corals, etc. so it hasn't received much love from me in a while.

Speed Dial, a cremesheen, is also described as a "light blue pink," but this is brighter and has some gold shimmer in it. I saw that Emma from milkteef described it as a "Barbie" pink, and it's true, I could picture Barbie wearing this color. I like to wear it with blushes or eyeshadows that are gold or have gold in them to bring out the gold shimmer in the lipstick.

Crosswires is one of my favorite lipsticks from MAC. It has a cremesheen finish but doesn't seem to be as glossy on me as my others. It's described as a "clean pinky orange," but I'd describe it as a reddy pink. I think it's great if you want the effect of a red lip but aren't daring enough to really go for a red lipstick. It has great staying power and I love it!

Hue is another lipstick that I bought feeling like I "should" have it. It's described as a "soft pale pink" and is a glaze finish. It's the only glaze I own, and it seems to be as glossy as a cremesheen but not as opaque. I find it to be a bit peachy-er than Creme Cup, but I'd say they're pretty similar. This lipstick can also sort of wash me out so I hardly wear it.

Viva Glam Nicki is my favorite MAC lipstick I own! I have a post on it here. It's described as a "bright yellow pink" and it has a satin finish. It is quite bright but if I feel like muting it down, I'll dab some on my lips and then spread it around with my finger. It's just so fun and bright that I reach for it quite often. It's a limited edition shade but it's still available on the website. Maybe I should buy another in case mine ever runs out?

Ravishing is another cremesheen lipstick described as a "clean light peachy coral." I have a post on it here. I sort of forgot about it for a while but used it last week and realized again how much I like it! I've been very drawn to orange lip products lately.

I haven't bought MAC lipsticks for a while as there aren't many more that have caught my eye, besides some limited editions that I wasn't able to get my hands one. I would like to get Viva Glam GaGa and Saint Germain, but I think SG might look kind of scary on my lips. I like it so much though!

I've ordered most of my lipsticks from their website as I don't live close to a store or counter. MAC quite frequently send email codes for free standard or two day shipping, so if you're going to order online WAIT FOR THOSE! They cost $14.50 each, but I think the quality is great. They all smell like vanilla, very sweet but not sickeningly so (at least in my opinion.) I'd say if you're new to MAC products the lipsticks are a good place to start. They have TONS of colors and different finishes so you have lots of options. If you're curious about how a lipstick actually looks (because sometimes on MAC's website it's hard to tell how they'll actually look in real life) google search the lipstick and there will most likely be a bunch of blog posts that'll pop up with swatches and photos.

I hope you enjoyed this post! I don't have as many MAC lipsticks as some people, but I've got a good selection of colors I think.
